Single Moms Alone

Blaze, When I first started M.O.M.S. I gave so much of my paycheck to helping others that I couldn't make my mortgage. I found myself facing a dilemma... Quit helping others or find another source of income. Well there was no way I could stop helping single moms. There are so many in need of help and nobody really helping them. So, quiting was out of the question. I didn't have time for a second job but decided I would rent out both bedrooms in my home to help make the mortgage. I converted my two car garage to a great room and moved my daughter and I into the garage. Even living here in Southern California it was chilly in the winter... but we made it through it and I rented our bedrooms out and broke even on the mortgage. Did I like having roommates? Not particularily... but sometimes you do what you have to do and I prepared for the sacrifice and made it through it. Where there's a will, there's always a way... Sometimes the way is covered with brush and thorn bushes and yes, you might get a few scraps, bumps and bruises, but you'll make it! Feel free to send me your telephone number if you would like to talk to someone. Perhaps I can help you come up with a game plan. And if I can't, I have thousands of members that may have even better ideas than I would! Ms. Spencer Betz

Blaze, I couldn't access your post and consider what your needs are. We are a non profit, but unfortunately do not funds available at this time. We are working on grants which will allow us to provide minimal scholarships. What needs do you have that we might be able to assist you with? Spencer Betz

BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR LOSING HOME

You're still unemployed from August 2005? I've had two friends undergo surgery for breast cancer. One had a double masectomy and was back working in less than a year. The other had the cancer removed, saved her breasts and was working within a week. Both went through radiation etc. What is your situation that you are still unable to work?

Single Mothers Need A Little Vacation

M.O.M.S., MakingLemonade.com & SingleMoms.com have teamed to help single Moms and their children.

As founders of our single parent organizations, we know first hand the struggles most single parents families on a daily basis. The most common challenge for working single moms is just making it through the month with enough budget to buy the bare necessities and pay the bills.

This is why we created Give A Single Mom A Vacation! It's simple for our single moms to participate. Each month our members contribute $5 to have their name included in the following months drawing for a vacation giveaway. Some members put in $10 or $20 and they are given an extra entry for every $5 they enter. Or in some cases, the members put in extra for to enter the name of a single mom who cannot afford the $5. Our first vacation will be awarded September 15, 2006. Gift From God founder Brian Cook will draw a members name literally from out of a hat and that Mom and her kids are going on a VACATION. Every single dollar contributed is used for that months giveaway.

Unfortunately, the majority of the members cannot even afford the $5. Five Dollars is equal to a Gallon of milk or a couple of gallons of gas which will make the difference in getting to work or not. So, as some of us can sponsor a few members that cannot afford to contribute toward the drawing, we certainly need help in sponsoring others.

Please consider sponsoring one or more of our members.

Thank you,
Ms. Spencer Betz
